I think I have been remiss by not expressing in this holiest of mediums that her friendship means a great deal to me - and I bet she is bummed because she didn't get her snow day today (I did) - the following is a grab bag list of things about Val:
- She has professional eye make-up applications skills (seriously, check out her artful use of plum eyeshadow at the lash line next time you see her)
- She is real about her feelings/relationships - sometimes you don't like the person you wake up next to, and you've got to be able to talk to your girlfriends about it and trust that they won't make you feel like a heartless freak - Val is awesome about validating my feelings and fears (and helping me to see beyond them)
- She trusts me implicitly as a cook
- She I lived in Richmond, hated my job, and was slowly being choked to death by some noxious gas emanating from the kitchen in my slum apt - she (and Ross) gave me a spare key and even came to smell my apartment and verify that I wasn't going crazy
- She is fiercely loyal to those that she loves
- She is unabashedly interested in celebrity gossip - I greatly admire this about her - I love celebs too, but I can't seem to get over mild embarassment about this infatuation - she is bigger than me
- I was genuinely sad when someone else taught her how to knit because I really wanted to share that bond with her
- She understands more than anyone else in the world my burning need to follow dinner with dessert
- It's sucked to know she's been going through the ringer over the last year or so I am an no longer "there"
- I miss seeing her whenevs
- Also she is pretty and always smells good
